there is something wrong w/ my setup. if i have it turned up past 25 (usual listening is 31, top is 40) it'll play fine for about 15sec. then it'll turn muffled. i even had a couple people listen, and they all heard it, so it's not just my ears //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but it'll play fine, then all of a sudden fade out. i put the re x-over back in. still does it. my mid is 3.8ohm, and the tweet 4.8ohm. i got a couple theories...tell me what you think.

a ) H/U RCA outputs going bad (didn't pioneer have a problem w/ them?)

b ) amp going bad

c ) RCAs going bad

d ) tweet going bad

anything else you can think of throw it up. i really wanna get this fixed.

I am willing to bet if you check these 4 you will find the problem. A very good starting block nonetheless.

Cant offer any help on the problem you have, but yes to the Pioneer thing. The problems Ive read about with the decks usually result in alt noise, never heard of it causing this.

If you determine it IS the deck, PM me for a direct number to a customer service supervisor at Pioneer.

I think choice A),

It, might be RCAs, or RCA plugs, but if that's the case, you should be able to wiggle your HU around and get the music to fade in and out.

I blew my Eclipse HU, had a similar problem

gains have been set w/ an oscope. my comp amp get hotter then my sub amp...but i don't know how hot it got before. i've never really felt it. it could just be the differance between an AB and a class d w/ a built in fan... but i don't think its heat cause i can turn it down for a min (the heat stays the same) and turn it back up and it'll do the same thing...

edit: and low voltage, naw, cause it'll do the same thing w/ my sub turned off. and the voltage stays at a constant 13.8V

that would be great if i had another deck to throw in there. or rca's.

if it was the deck, would it just be one set of rca's? or would all three be going bad?

i'm wondering cause if it was all wouldn't the subs be cutting out to? and if its just one then i could just switch the rca's to the rear output.....

As far as I know it can just be one set of rca outputs going out. I was actually going to suggest switching outputs since you didnt say anything about the sub also fading, dunno why I didnt. Try switching to a different set and see if that solves it.

what is the common signs of this pioneer problem? i've heard some are bad. but what do they normally do? just quit?
Whine/noise problems.

Mine made noise with the key turned forward, with the car not even on. When I started the car, it turned to alt noise. That seems to be the common problem.

Not sure if it can just be one preout, my deck did it on all the preouts. Its something internal, in the "ground plane."

i had a friend that his 860 did that. car turned off and everything. whined, and you could hear the laser moving when you switched tracks.

have you ever heard of the rcas fading, like my problem. or you think its something else?
