You could go this route and then just get a car charger for it and charge it when your not using it, say at night? The adaptor I use allows me to charge it and listen to it at the same time, but I get alternator whine from the charger, so I just unplug it while I'm using it and chage it when its not in use.

Kinda off topic, but do yall know what could be causeing it to whine? Its a mini-usb cable hooked up to a usb car charger, plugged into a cigarette light that is hardwired in under the dash, if that helps any?
