cd player installation help

I am trying to install the Alpine cda-9811 but I am having some difficulties. I hooked everything up but there is no sound coming out of the speakers. The cd player will power on, but I think I may have to bypass the factory amplifier somehow. Help?

Oh sorry, it is for a 1999 Durango with the infinity sound system if that matters

did you get the wiring harness that hooks the remote turn on from the deck to the OEM amps

Yea,

You need two wiring harness, one that came with the Alpine, and another for your car/truck. You’ll basically have loose wires on both ends, then all you need to do is connect them. Good luck!

i know lincoln town cars have an inline amp, im not sure about durango's but check to see

if they have an amp turn on wire in the factory harness adapter.

You don't have to bypass the factory amp. Just connect your head unit's remote turn-on wire to the "power antenna" wire in the Chrysler harness. The Infinity amp will work fine with your head unit.
