i never knew you could just sell an item at a store as long as you had a barcode.

oh thats true huh... stores like pennylane and ameoba just stick thier own crap on the cds. but you better have an amazing printer to pull that off.

yea barcodes are universal, the actual item just has to be inputted into the system for it to be recognized

It isn't as easy as just making up some random barcode. If you want to do it right, you have to obtain a barcode from a company for a good chunk of change. Check out Discmakers for what I am talking about: http://www.discmakers.com/music/products/barcode.asp.

yeah. i was hoping i could find one that didnt cost an arm and a leg. discmakers is the original at ripping people off...because they can. we have cd duplicators in house, and a friend of mine prints inserts and stuff (works for a graphic shop)...i was just surious about the whole deal.

It doesn't matter who, but someone is going to have to pay $750 to the Uniform Code Council. There is no way to avoid it if you want to be legit in the eyes of stores or sellers. you can sell stuff to stores...i didnt know that...i know you can buy and return stuff...
