all you guys bashing cavaliers just don't know how to use them....i don't do SQ but SPL is no problem (146db+ w/ 1 15" and 1200 @ the kick w/ a TL...ftw)....and the dash isn't that bad campared to a lot of others.

I have done installs in a few cavi's and i thought they got pretty loud . Guess you got to know what you are doin .

Just did one last week with 2 sets of 6.5 in. comps in the front and 2 12's in a big *** 5 cube ported box in the trunk .

I can listen to this car all day long it sounds so good .

the dash on those things is freakn horrible. I wanted to kick my girlfriend's dash in after her head unit's rca's came out one day. I wanted to pour gas on the whole thing and light it.

Looks like my cav lol. I am cringing at the dash too, since I need to tear it down again to locate a better ground for the radio and see if that rids the whine I have. I also hear the dash needs a lot of foam and deadening to keep buzzing down in SPL. I don't think I will have to worry about that since I am not going for any SPL. Since you compete in SPL though can you tell me what frequency the car seems to peak at on average? What sub/amp combo is she using? My sub setup is similiar except slot port, but it is sub front port front like that.

Um I don't need to wait for someday to upgrade. This is a work car. I just sold a 2004 GTO that I was driving on the daily, if I wanted to, buying something brand new and much nicer would be easy. I just find it pointless to have an uneconomical flashy ride to take me to work everyday.

Did't mean to offend you man...just saying you can get pretty much any car to sound good if you know what works for that car . It takes work to get good results nothing come easy .

LOL, I know this. I have been into it for quite a while. However the response in a cav will take more work than most cars is what I said. READ. It's also more work than I am willing to put into an econobox to go to work in. I didn't say it CAN'T be done or that I couldn't. I am not looking to add processing to this car and was hoping to get an acceptable response from this vehicle. The response in my GTO was actually pretty good in comparison with same sub and tuning. If you don't find some cars harder than others to tune for SQ then I guess I really don't know then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif It's just like some vehicles are easier to get loud than most. That isn't to say you can't make any vehicle loud, it just says some have an advantage out of the box.

A crx for example...those things just seem to be made for spl....

She's peaking at 45 hz, but I swear it sounds louder when its playing 30-35 but the meter doesnt concour. She's using a Mach 5 audio SPL 12 for a sub and one powerbass 1500....sometimes two if she wants to play in higher SPL classes.
