i was looking into designing and building some active crossovers for various projects and was looking into the cauer/elliptic filters that have an insane crossover slope, but are prone to transient ringing.

does anyone have any opinions regarding such filters. the major pro is the ability to place the tweeter further from the midwoofer, but the con is the poor transient ringing.

also, does anyone know a good way to introduce complex zeros into a system electrically?
