So we'll start out my story with the fact that I first noticed he made boxes in one of his for sale threads for a sealed 8" box (remember that part, it's important). Anyway, I kept him in the back of my mind and when the time came to get a little bit harder box than I was prepared to build, built.. I contacted him. It was for a Pioneer 10", 1.0-1.5cuft ported at 30hz. I gave hime specific MAX measurements to not go over. Shouldn't be a problem to make a box that small in the dimensions I gave him.
Anyway, I sent him a MO for $90 ($30 shipping, $60 for design and build). A little steep, but according to the pictures of his installs and this thread.. he was a great builder. So it was worth it. He gets the MO faily quick because I fedex'd it. PM's me a week later asking for the dimensions again... I'm like you stupid fcuk. And I give them to him again, shit happens so whatever.
He said at that point that the box would be done within the weekend, I'm like cool. I'll get it quick. One month later after hounding him for a tracking number and asking why it wasn't done (to the excuse of "you didn't say you needed it quick or nothin"), I finally get the piece of shit I am about to show you now. He apologized for the delay and offered to carpet it for free for me. which was cool...
Weight is good, hefty package, about the right legnth.. kind of short for a 10" box, but I brushed that off before I opened the packaging. Turns out it's an 8" box. Poorly carpet too. The cuts for the internal baffle's aren't straight. I can't see all the way inside and the carpet covers most of it to find many more mistakes. Anyways, I flipped the box over and to my dismay.. there's vinyl on the bottom. Who the fcuk puts vinyl and carpet together in one box (turns out he ran out of carpet so decided to finish it with vinyl). It looks like he literally spooged glue all over this thing, in fact.. its still sticky. The staples holding the carpet down are still visible, and bent, and not all the way in. The carpet is as cheap as you can buy and its folded over in gross patterns.
And now for the pictures.
Here we see the box, normal looking from afar..
