Pretty much finished with everything. Screen came out ok, gonna get another screen housing and dash kit and mold them together for a nicer look...but it looks ok for the time being.

Here are the pics:

Here's the motherboard, hard drive, power supply, and amplifier (bottom left corner) installed. The wireless adapter is also installed behind the quarter panel.

Monitor install, like I said I'm going to mold it into the dashkit for a little cleaner look.

I've still got a few things left- mounting external hard drive case, mounting DVD drive in center console, adding GPS and Sirius...more will be done in the next few weeks.

snova, im not sure if you have this or not, but do you have any sort of vibration dampening on that harddirve? maybe some rubber bushings below it or somthing? because vibrations will be your worst enemy in this case.

I've got 1" acoustical foam underneath the wood.

I did my research on HDD's and vibrations...most people say to just mount it securely and it'll do fine. The heatsink that I got for it keeps the HDD suspended about 1/2" off the surface as well.

Im seriously contemplating doing this...are there any programs that allow you to run active crossovers?
If you had a carputer with serial port + Sony CDX-C90 + Sony XDP4000 + some digital coax/toslink cables + a lot of brains and know-how you would have one VERY *****in' active setup with a lot of flexibility.

That's pretty much the only way to control any sort of crossover at the PC level inside a car..

Desktop harddrives are rated in the hundreds of G's for shock, and as long as he's not in an accident or jumping his car he should do alright; especially with the mounting on the foam... A laptop harddrive would have been a little better of an idea but I don't think he'll have issues.. Heat may become an issue but it depends on the trunk.

A little upset right now...I don't have any fawking media on this whatsoever- no movies, music, nothing- I planned on going home and connecting to my network and sharing all of my movies/music off of my home computer and grabbing them off of that- but for some reason I can't get my signal (I can get everyone elses signal, mine just doesn't show up). Then, I tried to take my 2nd HDD and use my IDE-USB adaptor and put all of my media on that and then put it in the car, but the adaptor sucks and none of my computers will recognize the USB drivers.

And, I don't have a dvd-drive yet because I don't have the cables for the slim dvd drive that I bought...balls.
