Carputer 101

ok megalomaniac i got an idea, but not sure if it will work. ok, my parent's old mac just crashed, it was an older model, iono if you remember when they introduced it with the whole cpu in a half circular dome at the base, and the monitor was connected on top and could swivel around and what not? ill try and get some pics of what im talking about. but, it supposedly only needs a new harddrive, think i could throw that in my car? i'd have to somehow disconnect the monitor, but would that work you think?

i was originally planning to build it from the ground up, but i wouldn't have money for that for a while. but now that i have this old computer, i might be able to start sooner than i think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Yeah, but hows the monitor connected? and i'd attempt to update it to OSX if it can handle it ...edit: on;y 166mhz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif FTL i say you need atleast 1ghz,but then again its a mac, they are pretty speedy

yeah thats it. well they had upgraded the memory to just under a gig i think, and it had the latest OSX before it crashed about a week ago. theres gotta be a way to take that monitor off. if i did use it, id only be used for songs pretty much, think it could work?

-edit- not sure how the monitor is connected, i dont have the computer with me right now, but i'm sure you can take it off somehow.

he better:) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

haha ill make sure he does. it turned out pretty good but its too much work for me

lazy> me

ill just buy an in-dash if anything

everything was hooked up in a family room, straight to the wall. im thinking, if i opened it up and took out the power supply and bought another, like an opus so i could run it through the car, it should work right?

nah playboy, i meant VGA,DVI, or was it like a laptop where it has its own?

FTL
did you see it in person or what?
yup. i saw most of the building process in person as well. its pretty impressive im not going to lie. playing with a keyboard and chosing which songs to play like that kind of had that "cool factor"
