So... i've never carpeted before... i'm used to sanding, priming and spraying... i've checked out BCAE and done some searching on here, but i haven't really seen anything dealing specifically with roundover corners...

Any tips?

edit: ignore the unsanded epoxy filler on the first pic... my dumb *** made the rookie mistake of not checking my plunge depth before starting a cut (on the big gouge). The lil gouge was from failing to keep the router vertical when it kicked while starting another cut...

use spray adhesive, and dont be stingy w/ it, or else itll come off. buy some carpet without the stiff backing, and just make the folds all on the bottom of the box. im not really clear on what the question was, but i hope that helped a little

well make stress cuts means cut the carpet so on the corner of the box u can fold each corner then spray adhesive all on the box make the carpet as tight as u can fold it over press lightly and go over carpet with your hand make sure its flat no wrinkles or anything in carpet lay it down then take the carpet do the same thing for other sides and just repeat takes a while so do it when u have time and patience:)

the main thing i'm concerned about is the roundovers and the way they affect the seams. it seems like they'll make doing the seems a lil more complicated than the tutorials i've seen so far...

nah man do the corners first like i said make sure the box is right on the carpet where u want it make stress cuts for each corner of the box then pull the carpet as tight as u can do one corner at a time this would be easier with 2 people *just a helpful note there* then after u get the corners tape them electrical tape works best just to hold em there then take the carpet in each part pull it up as tight as u can then flaten it down sry meant pat it down with your hand and slowly go over it get all wrinkles etc....out of it

When cutting the carpet for the sub cutout and port, use a sawing motion with a box cutter. Run the side of the blade parallel to the sub cutout (i.e. the thickness of the wood). Works wonders.

yeah very smart to do i just added it 2 my favorite's in my car audio file //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif haha
