carpet tunes as a port?

got a friend who installs commercial carpeting and he has a ton of those heavy duty carpet tubes piling up. they are 4" in diameter and was wondering if anyone ever thought of, or tried, using these as ports?

I don't see why not, looks studier than sonotubes that I have seen people use.

I've worked at Tontine Carpet One, from what I remember they aren't that sturdy and get real soggy if wet. Same concept as the sonotube but not exactly the same. I say atleast try it, I could be wrong.

id fiberglass it, but should work

just cut slices and put them in the corners of the box that is what they are best for
