just go ask for carpet with a very thin backing, or no backing at all (preferable). Just explain to them what you're doing.

i don't believe they have it online... its a huge section where they have huge rolls of all sorts of carpets, plus various vinyls and rugs.

you can't miss it.

walmart sells it for 9 bucks i think. look in the car parts/ audio section. its sold as replacement carpet for cars and boats i think.
