Carpet Alternatives

ive decided to get my box custom built for my alpine type r. Unfortunately, it doesnt come covered with carpet or anything. it's just the plain wood.

What are some other alternatives to carpeting? Could i spray paint it??

i'd rather not spend money on carpet/vinyl if all i have to do is spend $5 on a can of black spray paint.

if you used partical board u will need to put a really thick layer of primer on and if its mdf it will be good to primer but wont need as much on the cut ends of the wood will soak up almost all the paint and look bad to make sure you have a lot of primer on the cut ends of the wood and insted of spraypaint get some deck paint or something u can brush on i have tryed both and spay dosent look near as good as brushing on with or without primer
