i just don't think melo would have left THAT much money on the table to become a Knick in the summer. he would he signed with the nuggets and hoped for a better team to be built.Very stupid move. They shouldn't have given up Raymond Felton. Carmelo will sell tickets & merchandise, but Amare Stoudemire/Carmelo Anthony/Raymond Felton would have won Championships. I guess they're willing to gamble on Chris Paul coming to NY in the summer of '12. But I wouldn't have, he has had injury problems & isn't that much better of a PG than Felton, & Felton would of saved cap room for better role players.
hell yeah he can. you see him against dallas the other night. had about 18 in the first quarter. They made a good move getting him.i just don't think melo would have left THAT much money on the table to become a Knick in the summer. he would he signed with the nuggets and hoped for a better team to be built.
on that note i think Chancey could still ball and will find ez ways to score with both amare/melo getting all the attention from defenses.

Dallas doesn't play D, everybody scores against them, & Chauncey will retire before NY can compete for a Championship. Raymond Felton put up All-Star numbers this year & thrived in the system NY runs.hell yeah he can. you see him against dallas the other night. had about 18 in the first quarter. are the knicks better with the trade? Yes. Are they going to make more revenue fromt he trade ? yes.. = good trade. shows why your not a gm. You can make the team better and make more money . hence good trade. get him to resign then start worrying about role players and a championship. you dont go from the 4th best team in the west to title contender with a mid season trade. even miami hasnt meshed yetRaymond Felton > Chauncey Billups
Felton is in his prime, Chauncey has 1-2 years left, & the Knicks aren't competing for titles that soon. Chauncey very well may retire after this season now that he's in NY. He went back to Denver to groom Lawson & then retire, Chauncey is from Denver & had the perfect setup.
The Knicks could have traded other pieces to get Carmelo without losing Raymond. If the new CBA puts a hardcap they will be royally screwed. It will prevent them from getting D. Williams or CP3 in '12. Felton/Anthony/Stoudemire would have been a better group than Wade/James/Bosh. Mainly because they'd have more cap space to build around those core 3, & Miami has no PG. lulz
think what you want but what you think are not facts by far. dallas is in the top third of the league in D.Dallas doesn't play D, everybody scores against them, & Chauncey will retire before NY can compete for a Championship. Raymond Felton put up All-Star numbers this year & thrived in the system NY runs.
and felton is avg what 2 more assists then bilups and points are similar and chauncey has been playing better competition inthe west. Hardly a major step down. ya future wise with him being old maybe but the trade was obviously about getting better NOW. or they would have not signed carmelo without some sort of extension //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifDallas doesn't play D, everybody scores against them, & Chauncey will retire before NY can compete for a Championship. The NY Knicks really shouldn't be worried about revenue, they make plenty of money. They haven't won a single Championship in almost 40 years, 40 damn years.are the knicks better with the trade? Yes. Felton/Anthony/Stoudemire would have competed for multiple Championships. Billups/Anthony/Stoudemire will sell jerseys & tickets NOW, & get hit in the jaw by Boston or Miami in the Playoffs NOW. Then what? You have Anthony/Stoudemire & no point guard. And comparing Billups to Felton at this point in his career is a joke.and felton is avg what 2 more assists then bilups and points are similar and chauncey has been playing better competition inthe west. i can agree with that. but they accomplished what they wanted. and try and tell the NFL and NBA owners they are makeing "plenty" of money. theres a reason a lockout is coming. MONEYThe NY Knicks really shouldn't be worried about revenue, they make plenty of money. They haven't won a single Championship in almost 40 years, 40 damn years.
Are they a better team for this season? Probably. Are they gonna compete for a Championship this year? Nope. Are they in a better position for building a Championship Contender the next 5-8 years? Nope.
David Stern & the owners have made it known they will get a hardcap in place this summer,or they'll be a lockout until they can get one. That will prevent NY from adding a star PG in '12. They made this trade with too many if's needed to play out, & gave up too much.
