This is similar to the colorado 2004 engine whine. I cant compare to his noise, but mine it Really loud, like louder than the music when its on 18. Its a pioneer head unit also, avhp7500. But it was fine before i left, nothing has changed its just been sitting for 3 months, how would that problem all of a sudden pop up without being used or havign the car moved. and any suggestions as what to do? thanks

C

noise is there with car off also. can hear the laser moving, airconditioning fan coming on, lights dimming. this head unit has been back twice already and i dont have the time to wait for it to be fixed again, i only have 2 weeks to be home.

As soon as i turn the car on, like if its the first time it will start, the lights will come on and the screen will open, as soon as the sound starts the whining starts. the "courtesy lights" dimming after i close the driver door, causes a sound also. turning the AC on will also add noise to it. Revving of course, and at around 70 its loud as hell, but very high pitched liek alternator whine. With the car off, its not as loud but definitely there. lights AC and everything has the same effect, with the noise. If i turn the radio off no noise. Its through all the speakers and the Sub, ill check the center speaker ASAP

sounds like a deeper issue than just a simple ground fix. Like the wiring in your car is all tangled together in a big jumbled mess..

Re do the ground again.. maybe straight to the negative terminal this time.

I didnt really do anything yet except for check all wires, cehck all the symptoms. And then came here to ask why would sitting make stuff go crazy. plus i just got off being on planes for 18 hours, dont wanna get too deep into anything tonight. Just want to get some ideas of what to do tomorow, also going to try the RCA plugs adapter and hook it to my Iriver thing.

ok, got down under the seat to teh battery. This is weird, if i move the wire going from the battery to the fuse box, the noise gets lower or higher, cant find a "sweet spot" to where it stops completely, but i did get it a lot louder and also had like a popping noise too. Anybody know what that could be with teh wires back there? Now that i think about it my brother said he was under there tightening some wires. But anybody know what could have happened?

probably your friggen deck...just wanted to say i have the pioneer too and i have sooooo many problems with it its not even funny its a piece of crap. it won't track cd's properly, won't time align, won't control the sub, and won't keep time properly even

yeshewa, im thinkin that its the deck, everytime theres a problem with my system its always that deck, ive had to pull it out like 5 times. and yes when im back for good i will be getting a new one. but for these 2 weeks i need it to work. right when i wanted to ask him he called my mom, supposedly he just tightened the battery terminal screws. checked the ground, rca cables power. Oh by the way its through all teh speakers, low grumbling thunder sound through the sub. think the jump start could have screwed the deck?

Im really only looking for a temporary fix. just to last these 2 weeks.

ok its the head unit. I screwed a "ground" to the side and stuck it in between the rca cables. Noise pretty much gone. This is a temporary fix since i will only be home for 2 weeks. still there on start up and warm up but after that its not noticeable.

When i get back for good im buying a new screen. No more pioneer for me.
