I took my wifes 94 civic in to a garge to get a new clutch installed.

the guy was real nice to my wife and a complete dik to me

he would call her to report the progress and shine me whenever I called.

we went back and forth a few times and was an a$$hole.

so now we get her car back and it makes funny noises when she turns.

it NEVER made this noise before, but now that we have it back from the garage,it makes these noises.

anyone know about shops that brake things on purpose out of spite?

I saw a story on Dateline a few months ago about shops that intentionally ruin tons of things with the engine to make it undriveable so the owner has no choice but to get it all repaired....they set up hidden cameras in the shops and caught them cutting wires, beating the engine with a hammer, burning hoses, etc. etc.

its prolly ur cv joints. i had to replace all of them after i got a new tranny n i did it all myself. that cured the noises when i turned

Could this problem happen after installing a new clutch?

and how much did that cost?

I don't want to rain on your day, and make you feel dumb, or anything, I am try to inform you of a couple things. First in the FWD civic, you need to take out the entire front axle, cv joints and basically everything else to get to the tranny and ultimately the clutch. Now removing older cv joints are a pain, because they may not make the "click click" noise when you are turning in either direction, but once taken out and put back it make cause the gap that makes the noise. Sorry man, but the car is like 10 years old, those cv joints sound like they are past there time.

depends if its both or one,id guess around 300 for a new shaft maybe a lil more for an abs one which i bet u have but should be under 425,not that hard to change but you gotta pull tire,brakes,and everything to get to it.then it has a lil ring seal on the end that u gotta make sure is popped in all the way but thats prolly what it is.Establish what side it is tho first so u get the right one.

ya it could be since it was takin all apart n put back together wid all the original parts. i put ones on that are for racing cuz they r a lil stonger n they costed me bout 600 all together by the time i got al n shafts, joints, bearings, n boots.
