Car base is gone?

Hi... I'm new here so don't be to mad if I say anything wrong or something... Please just work with me here.

About 2 months ago I bought a Lanzar In-Dash 7" Motorized TFT Touch Screen DVD/CD Receiver. Model Number-SDBT77N... for my 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII (Granny car i know but its fast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

When I tried to install it I figured out that the monitor didn't have enough power to power up the AMP that was somewhere in the car... I don't know where... but anyway...

I took it to my Car Shop and let my mechanic look at it... He has had 30 years in experience in Car Stereo systems, so he is pretty credible... But he told me the only way that I could fix it was to Take out the AMP.

Now the Monitor works, but the speakers Sound Like Crap...

The Subs don't seem to be working at all... and the speakers in the back of the car don't seem to be working either...

So...

What should I do to get my sound back to the way that it was?

And if i have to replace the speakers, or get another AMP, then what do you think would be the best?

to clarify, it had a factory external amp aside from the head unit? and your replacing the factory HU with flip out 7".. so its a factory Amp that it cant turn on or is it an aftermarket amp its trying to power on?

and what do u mean by subs, are they factory like 8" or are you talking about the speakers in the rear deck?

Once I get back from Basic i'll put in some Subs...

well i was just using the Factory AMP for a while. I honestly didn't know what i was doing when i installed it. But I blindly allowed my friend take it out.

So now I'm wondering how to get my sound back to my Original sound system.

find someone on this forum that lives around you and pay them 100 dollars to make your system perfect.

to use the factory ford amp u have to wire it to the turn on lead from your new indash. the factory amps kinda **** but probaly better than what that lanzer can put out. if you dont use the factory amp im pretty shure u have to but a plug that conects the wires to delete the factory amp. mainly to keep the speakers working with out it. u mite just have to run new speaker wire to all the speakers.
