Hi everyone! First post here.
My goal is to make a speaker box with two full range speakers and one subwoofer, with separate subenclosures for each speaker. I want a lower power battery mode to run off of a car battery, hence my turn to car audio speakers. For high power, I will have an outlet supply to power it.
I am here to ask advice on which speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier I should get.
Constraints:
Subwoofer should be a 12 incher. I need enough power to fill a 3 car garage size room with sound (if possible; of course not concert level, but enough to feel especially close by). How many watts RMS do you think I would need to do that? Any recommended subs? A current system I have has a 500 W peak kicker comp 10" running at 100W RMS, and I need more than that.
Full range speakers should be louder than the sub; I would like to be able to project pretty far. I have a unit with 2 50W RMS speakers and I would like a bit more power. 75 should be fine.
Amp should be matched with the speakers. I would be okay with using two separate amps if that financially seems similar.
Financial: I would like to limit to $700 but will go up to $1000 if you guys think it's necessary to meet my other constraints.
Most of all, I want quality sound!! No Walmart Pyle Blue speakers.
If one constraint needs to be pulled back a little I would prefer it be the subwoofer. I'd be fine hooking it up to an external sub when it really needs to shine. I still do want more than the 10" currently peovides.
Thank you all!
Greg
