The "rule of thumb" is 1kw per 1 farad.

But caps for the most part are not the best allocation of resources.

Caps used to be the shit. What happened? Why aren't they the right thing now?

They were only "the shit" because they were misunderstood and misrepresented. Every one still thinks caps help power and dimming issues. Local shops hype them up to makes sales. IMO they are a complete waste of money. They really don't do anything useful, that a upgraded electrical system could not do.

Oh and they still will be "the shit" to those less informed

Really if you think about it they still would do what a cap does best be a filter. I'm not saying they are good or bad cause I have heard arguments both ways. BUT they are not used for fixing dimming headlight issues or issues where the vehicals electrical system is simply not powerful enough to run the system.
