Capacitor help?

I just got a 09' GTI. I wanna install my eclipse sw4000 sub / eclipse xa1000 amp, do you guys think i need a capacitor??

Google'd your amp, looks like it only puts out 400 RMS, which is pretty small and should have little current draw on your alternator and front battery. However Im pretty sure you will upgrade, trust me, it gets addictive. So I would but maybe a small battery a Kinitek HC600, 800, a Powermaster, or simply upgrade your front with a optima Yellowtop from Autozone, or whatever car repair shop chain in your area

id get more watts and bigger sub.. from personal experience you wont be happy with such a small setup..unless your looking into a SQ build and not get very loud..lol just helping you out cuz if u try to sell your equip and buy again youll deff lose some money..

Seems like it's his first. I had about the same my first setup, thought I was smacking! LOL. Now 3 setup, 2 batteries, 3 decks and 3200 dollars later I'm still not sastified. LOL

I am running that same amp plus a front end amp that is putting out about 300wrms.

On a prelude alt. 85amps.

you will be fine with no upgrades in your electrical, with tha amp. install it and enjoy!

Edit, If I crank it up full tilt where the eclipse amp's clipping light comes on on really big drops. i get slight headlight dimming.

but my car is 15ys old.

you will be perfectly fine.

look into the Batcap 800 or even Batcap 2000
