capacitor help

this capacitor worked before fine and then i putit in my car and it wont work. someone tell me if this wiring is right. 12 volt from battery. grounded to chassis. then 12v from cpacitor to amp. amp grounded to chassis. none of the lights come on. please help

I simply just wouldnt use a cap...but have you tried running the amps ground to the cap's negative and then have one run from there to the chassis for grounding?

Not exactly...I would always attatch my power+ground directly to whatever it is in the trunk that you're attatching to (like a battery, etc.) and then ground from there..

what type of car? i run roughly 1600 watts in my truck and i didnt need any upgrades

I had a 1.5 farad capacitor that came with my car and the only thing I could tell it did was give me a cool blue volt meter. I pulled it out and couldn't tell any difference.

you can just get a better battery upfront and that should be all

(stopping and testing between each one to see if voltage is stable)

-Big-3/Upgrade all wiring

-Add battery to rear (with a good 1/0 cable, fused on both ends)

-Upgrade alternator+Upgrade front battery

if the cap isnt working and u exchanged it from another vehicle then it was more then likely due to not properly discharging the cap before taking it out which ultimately kills it. a alternator for ure setup isnt need i run two 12'' l7's and two 1000.1 amps and have no voltage issues. i added a kinetik hc600 battery to help cus i run 3 amps. the kinetik hc600 will help alot and its pretty **** cheap
