can't stand those videos

I agree with OP. I'm sick of seeing these ridiculous sundown 8's in ported boxes talking about "my shit hits so low".

fuck off and get some 15's bitch

so 8 are for high bass? and 12s for mid bass? and 15 for low bass? 18s hmm deeper lower bass then? am i right?

i agree with ya op, not to mention most cameras distort so bad when the system is playing that you cant hear anything but static.. also love the " look at my rear-view mirror shaking!" show me some body pannels flexing then i might be impressed

Christ, why all the hate on small subs? Tens can get low just as 15s can get high. The reason they say that is because the enclosure is a huge part of the install.

I've got 2 sa-8's on a saz-1500d
I'll make you a video, bro.
Please do.

oh the enclosure is a big part of the install? My bad, I didn't know that. BRB I'm gonna go put a 5 1/4in door speaker in a 3ft^3 box tuned to 25hz and break the windshield.

So you're saying the enclosure has no bearing on how well your sub will perform?

The enclosure plays a big role, but let's not act like it's the only factor. If you want loud and low, which are what SUB woofers all about, then you need big subs that move big air.

Some people are space limited. The biggest box I can fit in my trunk is 4 cubes, I originally got 8's because I was planning on getting 2 more and another amp down the road. Either way, I see nothing wrong with seeing how loud you can get a pair of 8's by playing around with different enclosures regardless of space.

I think those that downplay the enclosure's role just don't know how to design/construct a proper one...that's all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

trying to figure out who's side you're on lol. are you pro '4 inch speaker in 4 cubes' ?

Many (many) years ago, one of the projects we had to complete at installer institute was to build an enclosure for a 3" speaker. At the time it taught me the importance of the enclosure, but after years of reflection I remember that it did indeed play low, but output was lacking. The over all lesson learned was a successful sub install understands that the proper setup utilizes both the sub and the enclosure, in unison, to achieve the desired goal. Arguing which is more important is just mental masturbation.
