I have Polk Audio Momo Coaxials 6.5 in the rear hooked up to a JL 300/4. After messing with the head unit controls and the amp controls I can barely get any sound out of them. While sitting in the rear you cant even tell they are on. I can turn the sensitivity up on the amp to get more power running to them but then the 'orange/yellow' light starts flickering which I believe is the protection from clipping. So Im stuck with absolutly no rear fill....Also, If I turn the rears to the higher hz I can turn up the sensitivity up more but the lower I turn the hz to get some mid bass, the less and less I can turn the amp up...Im really pissed off I cant figure the rears out as I got everything else done. Im almost ready to cut the crossovers out and run the speakers directly to the amp.

Yes, because rear speakers are so important to reproducing a stereo signal.
With that said, sounds like a h/u setting, possibly in your xover. What freq range are you bandpassing them in, which I assume you are, since you are calling them "rear fill".

To be honest, I dont know much about the settings on what they are supposed to be on. I mainly just fiddle with them until the sound great. I know what the stuff means and is capable of doing, but that is about it. What is my freg range should I be bandpassing them in? I want them for more than just rear fill. I want to be able to hear every detail, no matter where Im at in the vehicle, mainly because I dont want passengers thinking I have a crappy stereo because they can not hear it.

The hottie should be riding in the front passenger seat. Anyone who is insignificant enough to be riding in the backseat, is not worthy of me ruining MY soundstage for them. That's how I see it, but maybe you need to impress people in packs, I dont know.
But seriously, apparently you just want to HP them just like normal front comp speakers. I cannot be a party to this, Im sorry. I must bow out of this thread.

(what can I say, Im in a weird mood tonight)

The Hottie always rides up front. but seriously, I sat in the back in my driveway just to see what it sounded like, and absolutly nothing. You could hear the front stage and that was it. I turned the phase back to just the rear and you could hear wispering over the subwoofer. that was it. I just want to hear the dang things just to make sure they are working. Right now, I have absolutly no sound in the rear. I could have saved some money and just left a big whole in my door and it would sounded the same.

ok, so do you have a sugestion? Like what are some settings to look for on my headunit to make sure something is not on the wrong setting? Dang, if it helps out any, anyone who can guide me through this I will put a few extra $$$ in your Paypal.

I must be able to hear them before I pay though. lol

do you have the rears amped running off that four channel? if so do you possibly have the rear channels low passed on the amp?

i have the momo comps up front as well with no rear fill and my passengers dont know i only have fronts until i tell them. im also in a civic though so staging might be different in your car.

They are amped on the 4channel. On the amp there is a setting that has low/high voltage if thats what you mean. I had them on high but they got even softer so I switched back to low and they got a little bit louder but still can not hear them. I can go out there and tell you exactly what they are on if you would like me too.

Ok, here are the settings on the amp

Freq range - 1x

Filter slope - 24db

Input voltage - low

filter freq - 120-130 hz (messing with it to see how loud I could get it before it clips)

filter mode - hp

the high/low you were messing with should be matched to what your preout voltage is. the "filter mode" is what i was looking for which it should be set to HP..... filter slope seems a little steep. i usually stick with 12db, but thats a personal preference.

hmmmmm...... and you have 3 sets of rcas running from your HU or 2? without knowing anything about your HU or being there i dont really know that theres anything else we could suggest.

I have 3. 1 set going to the sub amp and two going out for the 4 channel. Im running a JVC KW-AVX7500 indash dvd. I believe it puts out like 2-3volts.
