Lol I feel ya. I am the same way, I have only owned one really BUDGET amp, and it was a PA. Kind of ruined the name for me. I was just throwing that out there since your looking for suggestions.

ive also been looking at the powerbass 5000 watt amp, ne one have any experience with the powerbass brand

treo engineering is a relatively unheard of company that makes insanely high quality stuff especially their ssx line. ive had subs from about every line i had 4 ssi 10s a tsi 15 2 tsx 10s and an ssx 12, only amps i have had are an ssi and currently an ssx 750.1 ( 375rms@4, 750@2, 1500@1, 3000@.5) the best part is its all reasonably priced
