Cancellation?

Sorry if this is the wrong section..not sure where to ask. so ive got 2 4.3 cu ft boxes at 31.5 hz for 2 18"s. right now the subs are pointed towards opposite sides of the car with the port facing back. how bad will cancellation be? 1 sounded great when i turned it that way..maybe a lil quieter than facing up but ok.

its possible for me to cut new holes so the subs face up...but wanted to get some opinions first

I don't think you really have to worry about cancellation. As far as cutting new wholes for the subs, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you just completely replace the panels of board where the subs are now. Have you tried just flipping the boxes around to make the subs face up yet just to kind of play around with it first?
