Hi guys , need some help, as usual, i'll make it short, Got a 2009 Merc clk350 . bought a aftermarket head unit, installed ok, then drained the battery after 3 days. lot of smoke being blown up me as to why, but i have a feeling its to do with the Canbus. the car had a quadlock connector with 2 fibre optic leads, now canbus is not my strong point but could i need a canbus adaptor for these optic leads, or one without...

Any pointing would be grateful,

Rich

It sounds like you may need to connect your aftermarket head unit properly to the vehicle's CAN bus system. It's possible that a CAN bus adapter is necessary to ensure proper communication between the head unit and the car's electronic systems, particularly considering the fiber optic cables. I recommend checking if your head unit has specific requirements regarding CAN bus or fiber optic connections.
