Can you put tint over tint?

Ive noticed lately that I can see through the 20% tint on the Saturn alot more than I used to and its pissing me off. I was thinking of getting a sheet of 35% over the side windows to help or possibly having the windshield tinted 35%.

Is it fine to put tint over tint? and does anyone have any pics of their car that has tint on the windshield? I wanna see what it looks like.

i doubt you would wanna do that. it'll make the window too thick and it won't go down. just take the old off.

as far as the windshield being tinted, good luck. check your local laws

Don't tint the windshield. And tint over tint in fine, but getting that dark gets to being illegal. But you probably don't care about that, so tint away.

There's not a huge problem w/ tinting the windshield from what I've seen. I have mine done 35% and I've never had po po problems for almost a year now. Also, if you can find some sort of smoke shaded tint it helps alot because it makes it more of a glare and it just looks like you have mad reflection coming off from the lights, sky, etc.

1. you can't tint over aftermarket tint due to the fact that you can't clean the tint already on the window....

2. but you can put double tint on (2 layers) just have to do it at time of application.
1. Why not? There are non-ammonia glass cleaners out there specifically made for tinted windows. Clean it before the second layer is added. However, if the existing tint film is of low quality, then I wouldn't bother with it anyway.

2. If they do it at the time of application, why pay the extra for 2 layers of, say, 35% when 1 layer of 5% will give similar results? The only way I see this as feasible is if 2 layers of 10% or 5% (or even less) for a complete non-transparency result are being applied.

answer to question 1.

no you can not!... if you want good result's you have to razorblade clean the windows... you can not remove some of the stuff with any window cleaner...... you will have hella bubbles...... and it will look stupid....

question 2. yes getting the right percentage is the best way the first time... but there are still people out there that dont want anyone to see in there car even with a flashlight... therefore you have to dubble it up!!!

i have my sun strip along with my front windshield dubbed up!

i have my whole front windshield 50% and then i have a 12'' 10% sun strip and then a 9'' 5% sun strip... and i love it.. the rest of my car is 5%

and due to the fact that i used to tint everyday. and my roomate is a tinter.. ive forgotten about the money end off it... shit i havent paid for tint on my car for years..
