I have a ho alternator that puts out 220 amps but it really doesnt start putting a decent amount of amperage until the engine is revved up. So at idle it puts out next to nothing and I was wondering if I can put a smaller pulley on it to better amperage at idle?

Also another question I get serious voltage dropage down to like 10-11 volts with just one mtx 500 watt amp if I did the big three in 1/0 will this help? I did it with 4 gauge and it didnt do much.

I have an mtx 500 watt amp running 2 12" pioneer premeires that are 1,000 watts rms. Also I have a little 200 watt amp running my highs.

Yeah ok I think it would have to be the battery, cause it was like that forever with my stock alternator. And then I put my ho alternator in and it made it worse like my stereo at high volumes would fail like cut out. Or is it possible that they didn't hook my alternator up right?
