I have an ipod 30gb. its a little over a year old bought new from best buy or somewhere like that, cant remember exactly. anyway i am now driving my wifes car as she took my tahoe to texas for a while and with it, my system. so i bought one of those ipod fm transponder things from best buy bc the local radio stations ****. the adapter charges the iopod which i thought would be cool, but now it is always fully charged as i ahve a 40 minute drive each way to work.

will this affecdt the battery life once i go back to my rca connection/regular listening with the ipod? ive heard that its not good to leave things like cell phoens and what not charging once they are fully charge and am not sure if this applies to ipods as well.

most all batteries have charging cycles, and can develop "memories". the "memory" is actually a build up of crystals in the batt that limit its capacitance. over charging, not properly charging, interupting charge cycles, or poor battery maintenance can facilitate the crystal growths, shortening the life of the battery.

its most common in cell phones, at least in my experience.

yeah my last cell phone battery was horrbnile after a year or so. lots of people i know that have cell phones their battery life starts to **** after a little bit. same iwth my laptop battery. i had to replace it with an extended life. of course those are due to being old. i just had heard that if you overcharge products, by this i mean leave them in past the time when they are fully charged, that they start to lose overall battery life.

yup, if you leave them on the charger it shortens the life.

i want to say that L-ion batts are the worst about this. they are kind of like balloons, if you leave them charged (AKA, an inflated balloon) or leave them on the charger too long, it kind of loses its elasticity, or ability to contain the charge.

but like i said, im pretty sure that all apple products have a protection circuit in them to prevent this.

You can overcharge an iPod if you have mad skills. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
