Can you charge back on a debit card?

I'm wondering if you make an internet purchase on ebay and they don't send your item, are you able to charge something back on a debit card or is it not like a credit card? I would assume the banks are able to, but i'm not sure if anyones done this before. Looking for someone with more experience than me, and how many days do you have to charge back the item.

It isnt quite like a chargeback but you can file an ACH Dispute.

you can get actual fraud back. i just went down to my bank. they seemed to be just as good as "the thunderdome".

if its paypal through eBay, i think you should not have any problems just file through paypal? i thought that's the one time they actually do get your money back is if on ebay.

you cant charge back on a debit card, ive tried. but if you payed via paypal then you can get your money back

Debit cards do not give you the same protection you get with a credit card.

It may have a Visa or MC symbol, but the only protection you have is whatever your bank offers you.

I have done 3-4 in a past few years and never had a problem. I call, get my money within 24 hours and they send me a form to fill out and mail back.

That said the only people that really know is your bank, mine is a small credit union so I think it's a bit easier than if you were with some giant company ie: BofA

Im trying to right now. My back is TD, Only thing though they wont me to get a third party involved. Not a bad thing. But I think they are going to do it.

In my experiance, I was told by BofA that I had authorized the purchase, wether you recieved it or not is another story. So basicly They would not do anything. Now If I said someone stole my card and used it to make a purchase, I was covered. But they dont cover "Buyers Remorse".And if you ddidnt recieve what you purchased, then its a civil matter, unless the $$$ amount is over a certain amount, then it can become a legal mattter. And we all know the law loves helping ppl with internet fraud.
