can winter tyme effect yur subs

Cold DOES NOT affect subs at all. I have yet to read 1 or more on this myth somewhere through out the 'net. However, it'll keep your amps cooler... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ok, now that isnt entirely true. cause if its like 100 below, im sure your subs will shatter with the slightest poer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well then...do some experimenting and prove it. Like I said...I have yet to come across something online about subs in 0 degree weather affecting performance. How are you gonna warm them up 1st?? With your momma's hair dryer or your dad's Milwaukie heat gun?? Then there's always the solution.....use the garage.
id never experiment with my subs. maybe some funky pups, but never the good stuff. anyways, chances are, everything'll be fine. but i was just saying that there are temperatures that will damage your subs if power is sent to them. how would you warm them up? yes, youd hafta use a heat gun or hair drier if you didnt have a warm place to park your car. but what we really need to keep in mind is that no1 lives in antarctica, and thats about the only place that has a climate thatll damage subs.

With a ported box it could be possible for water vapor to enter box and get on the VC and possibly freeze on it... then crack when powered... ???? Read it somewhere. Guess it could happen if you car wasnt sealed very well.

Yup, was gonna say Antartica myself but you beat me to it. Thus, this pretty much sums it up then... and pretty poinless to say. Or...Alaska....but no idea how cold it gets there. Unless you live in an igloo with a few penguins...
it actually doesnt get extremely cold in alaska, so ive heard. would never wanna live there though....unless gas is dirt cheap....hmmmm...

Condensation. Just about everything with a metal heatsink gets a little wet in my car on winter afternoons. Don't imagine that's good for your electronics, but haven't had any burnouts either. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I don't think condensation generally accumulates to the degree that if it 'froze' it'd make a physical difference (like cracking things)

More like frost.

let em warm up befor u pound em. thats it. ive hurd of condensation forming and rapidly heating up VC then freezing and freezing the sub solid, but a night inside fixed that. ive blown one amp casue of the cold, never had a problem with subs.
