can u wire a 4 ohm solobaric L7 to 1 ohm?

well amp would u prefer that would wire to 2 ohms and get 1000 watts, i was thinkin bout just gettin the brutus 1500 and wire it to 2 ohms and i think that will give me 1000 watts but do yall have any other suggestions

bx1500d puts out ~900-1000 @ 2ohm and 1500+ @ 1ohm

SHUCKS, too bad you didnt get a dual 2 ohm voice coil L7, then you could use a bx1000d for it nicely.

Get the dual 4 ohm. Wire each sub's coils in parallel, then each sub to the amp. That will give you a 1 ohm load since the bx1500d is a mono amp.

Who's the idiot? A DVC 4 ohm sub in this industry refers to dual 2 ohm coils. Why do you think when someone sells a DVC sub and calls it a four ohm sub it says dual 2 ohms on the specs?

Ok this is for the last two dunb f u c k s. First of all this thread is older than you. I know as well as you that a dual 4 is 2 ohms in paralell, and a dual two is 1 ohm in paralell. As for the website, its the Ebay listings that have a sh/it load of dual 2 ohm subs and need to get rid of them so they try to trick people into thinking they're dual 4 subs when in actuality they're dual 2's; they would call the dual 2 ohm subs 4 ohm subs. It pissed me off trying to look for dual 4 ohm subs. No its not manufacturers listing them as "4 ohm subs", its the d i c k s on Ebay.

Here is an equation you can use to figure out loads in paralel pull up your calculator on your computer, so if you have a dual 4 ohm sub hit 4 then the 1x + 4 then the 1x = 1x that will tell you your load. You can use that equation to figure out your loads.

By the way the 1x equation is how you can check and verify your configurations on paper, but the way i truly determine my load with my trusty mac meter.

Keep in mind that a Radio Shack ohm-meter will show you the DC impedance, not the AC impedance (music power is AC, just not at the typical 60 Hz). They should be close, but on many spec sheets they can be off by 1-2 ohm from each other.
