Can this be replaced?

I have a Mach 460 sound system, the rear passenger amp in the back blew, but the other amps still work. Because of that, I can't hook up the amp I bought to run my JL audio sub in the back with the stock stereo. I had it connected about a week, just had it hooked up wrong, but it kicked really nice off that stock system. Is there a cheap way to replace the amp in the back, or does it have to be the exact mach amp that's in there currently? I bought myself a little cheap stereo from Power Acoustik, but it's not pushing the sub hardly at all, and I'm getting a really loud engine whining noise whenever I rev up the car. I'd rather reconnect the stock unit if at all possible, but I need to know if I can buy a little aftermarket amp to replace the real passenger amp so I can put my old stereo unit back in.

You hooked your sub up to your stock rear speaker amp? Doesn't that just sound like trouble?

Contact a ford dealer about a replacement amp.

No no no, I didn't directly hook up the sub to the rear amp, no no. I have my own 500 watt amp set up in the back for my sub, but the stock stereo on the mach 460 does not have RCA inputs. Because of that, my friend just tapped into the High and Low inputs on the two woofers in the back and connected them directly into the amp I use for my sub. The sub ran awsome for about a week, then one day it just stopped working... That's when I knew I blew the rear passenger amp in the car. All I need to know is if I can replace the amp with a cheaper amp. I could buy some real nice components for the price a Ford dealership would charge me for a replacement amp. I'd rip out the whole system before I'd even think about buying anything from them.

Did he tap into the inputs to the stock amp or the outputs of the stock amp. If it was the outputs then I would think there was to much input for the aftermarket amp or tapped into the inputs then there was a issue with the input that screwed up the stock amp. Also tapping into the outputs could have changed the impedance and screwed up the stock amp. Anyway the only place I know that is reasonable price would be Ebay. Might have to buy a pair but it would be alot cheaper then buying from Ford
