Can this be repaired? (JL12w3d4)

So a friend of mine was in a pinch for Christmas money so he sold me his subs so he could buy toys for his son. I got a 12w6 and two of the older w3's that came in the powerwedge box. One of the w3's is trashed (which I knew when I bought it) and I was wondering if you think it is beyond repair.

u should be able to pull some of the dent out with tape. And for the tear a cheap fix is a thin layer of silicone along the backside of the tear, should hold good enough. They also sell surround replacement set, probably the best option. Personaly id just silicone though, not the prettiest but gets the job done.

as far as the surround goes... grey rtv glue (gasket sealer) dustcap wise try the tape. if that dont work then use a small needle and bend the tip and pull it out. afterwards put a spot of glue on the hole.

To get the dent out, try using a shop vac. I did that with an old sub I had lying around and it worked pretty good. As far as the tear goes, like they said above, use black silicon and put thin layers until you get it sealed. Aint purdy but it works.

these are all much better suggestions than i was gonan give you for the dustcap lol. if none of those work just carefull remove it, bend itback, then reglue it. but those other methods should work fine.

use silicone or the otheer gasket glues they reccommended.....should be fine
