The cooling just isn't built into these to take 5k for very long. The coil and motor force are strong enough to do 5k briefly, however.

Thermally, my hybrids can take ~4k indefinitely. Only truly "musical" 5k+ subs I could see are Tantric and B2. Both of these are current production subs, one is actually affordable.
