Can my head unit alone power aftermarket speakers or do i need to get an amplifier?

Hi I have a Chevy cavalier with a dnx6190hd by Kenwood a Rockford Fosgate p1 subwoofer and a Rockford Fosgate r250x1. I am unsure if I need an extra 4 channel because my head unit puts out 22 watts RMS. I want to buy some Rockford Fosgate T1693 coaxial 6X9's for the rear and a set of Rockford Fosgate T1462 4X6's front. I am also open to ideas for where I can buy a cheaper Rockford Fosgate amplifier for this application if needed.

Thanks and have a nice day

Since you have a basic sub and not a ton of power running it, it's not unreasonable to expect the HU to give you a decent blend of full range vs sub.

Jeff is running 5kw+, so naturally he, and many like him see low power systems as useless and virtually inaudible.

I would try it first w/o an amp. Adding one down the road won't be too big of a deal vs doing it now not knowing if you need it or not.

Your HU will allow you to filter the lows from the speakers which will help them perform pretty well (for mid/high) w/o much power.
