can it be this simple??

No you need a power wire, remote wire, and ground. Sounds like you have only 2 outputs from the headunit which means you can either power your fronts or your rears, but not both. Well technically you can with Y Splitters, but Id advice against it.

And why is that? Nothing wrong with Y-splitters at all, and most amps these days have internal circuitry to double the signal to all speakers in the case that only one RCA is used.

Lulz. You lose all L/R or Front/Rear balancing depending on how you setup your splitters.
