my sub is dual 1 ohm. right now i have it at 2 ohms. i wanna upgrade my amp for more power. can I wire it to .5 ohms and hope that after box rise it is around 1 ohm?

i have big 3 done in 0 ga, and a kinetik hc2000 battery up front. 130 amp stock alt and another 4ch amp for speakers like 75x4

i wanna run like 2000 watts or somethin to my sub

i have a voltage meter in the mail to me on the way, i was also wondering how to hook that up would my power and ground dist blocks be a good place to run the wires to? but im only running about 1200 watts rms right now im just wondering if i can get a bigger amp down the road and be ok wiring like that if say i have no voltage drop right now as it is

could run the voltmeter there or directly to amp terminal. If you drop to 12.5 now, I'm almost positive it will drop below 12 on .5. I've been running my aq2200 at .5 lately and don't go below 12.0 with my electrical in my sig. I don't have big three done yet though.

i usually generally stay about 12.3 with the power hog i have. but yea if its 12.5 @ 2 ohms right now i really think its going below12. if you get the right amp some can go lower and itwont hurt any thing

I LOVE my AQ1200, they put out tons of clean power and can run at .5ohms on good electrical all day. Just make sure u monitor your voltage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They can compete with all the high end amps, there just 100-150less lol

yea... thats a good choice. or a sundown if you want to pay for it, the sundown would be more efficient the the aq but both are really good amps
Not by much though, comparing the aq1200 to the saz-1200. The aq is 84% efficient and the sundown is 86%, not a big gap lol
