Can I use a JL audio cleansweep with a range rover factory amp?

I added a jl 1000/1 and w7 for the lows, but haven't switched anything around for the rest of the system. I know that the factory amp seems to have an abnormally large number of channels and I'm curious if anyone has figured out a way to still use it. (My alternator died 2 days after having the 1000/1 installed granted there is 100k miles on the truck and battery was probably weak, so may be the straw that broke the camel's back... it still cut into my budget for upgrades). If I do need to upgrade the stock amp, what will i need to get? will a typical 4 channel work? or because of the large number coming out of the factory deck, will I need multiple? Saying that the original system had so many channels (I believe 12) will I have to use multiple crossovers (regardless of whether or not I replace the amp)?

I am pretty new to this and really value your insight. I haven't really found anyone in minneapolis that is knowledgeable on the range rover system when it comes to upgrades. I am confident I will get more concrete answers on this forum and can make my decision how to proceed more wisely (and still save some $$$).
