can i spray paint my whole box. will the paint stay????

idk any sealer you want to use! who cares just if you try to use primer first, the mdf will soak it right up.

and as i said before, use fleckstone! it is a ton easier to use due to only needing one coat or so, and you wont have to worry about missing a little here or there. it is a good goof off paint, you dont need to do much special to make it look good

Depending what you are trying to achieve, paint may be the better way to go, ex the hard clean look over the soft/fluffy look.

It doesn't hurt, however, to use a sealer or a lacquer to make the MDF more water resistant even if you aren't gona paint it.

IMO, just carpet it. Much cheaper (Walmart for the Win) and saves alot of time. Its much harder to do a good job painting than to do a good job, or alteast make it look like you did a good job.

I agree. I have used it before too. I even put a layer of resin over the fleck stone to help it keep longer. Came out nice actually.

If you want it too look good, then put atleast 2 coats of primer and 3 sandings. 1 before each primer and then one before the spray paint goes on.

A couple layers of paint wont do any harm either as long as you paint in between those coatings too.

Good luck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But I would agree with the others in saying carpeting would be quicker than painting when you want the box to look good.

Mine is sprayed in SEM textured paint and then painted with basic black spraypaint. No prep at all. Took longer for the paint to dry than it did to lay it down. For my amp rack, I just used a high build black automotive spray primer and again no prep work. 2 years later the whole thing still pretty well looks new.
