I think I have decided on the Orion H2 sub. It will be going in the back of a Grand Cherokee. But I have a question. If I were looking for more SPL, would I be better off with 2 12" h2's in a sealed enclosure, running off of an Orion 2500 D, Or 1 12" in a ported running off of a bx1500d amp?

Why not put the 2 12s in a ported box? If you are going just for SPL. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I guess if space is an issue, But I was thinkin grand cherokee. So thread starter what are your space limitations, or how much space are you willing to give up?

why the difference in amps as well...IMHO, the Orion amp would be a much better buy, no matter what you end up with woofer wise...

yea the 2 12s ported wont need that big of an box. i would say the 2 12s ported. u have enuff room back there. it'll need like 4.75 cu total for the 12s ported. 5 at most.

I know, i know! I've got the space, and trust me, i'm fighting the urge to just get crazy with it. I told myself i would try to stay at or below 3.7ft^3. My last setup was 2 PG TI15d's, and a jbl bp1200 in a 2002 intrepid. I'm kinda lookin to keep the box(es) under 14.5 inches high, so they fit under the cover in the back, so i had to get rid of the 15's. I would also kinda like to still have a little cargo space if need be. I guess i figured i would only go with 1800 watts for the one ported because i've heard horror stories about the h2's getting fried. More thoughts anyone? 2 sealed or one ported. (If ported, what size box/tuning would you recommend?)

Ill just tell you what i was recommended by members on here for ported. 2.5^3 tuned 30Hz. 30-35" of port. For sealed i did mine 1.8^3, for my 1 15, recommended by Orion.
