What's going on people?

Ok I have finally received my 2 12in Brahma'S. I am fairly new to the car stero scene so I just need alittle input. The question is that I want my system to bump but at the sametime have that sound quality to go with it. So is this possible and if it is possible what type of box and the dimensions would I need to make this possible? So far I have 2 sets of Koda components installed powered an a Eclipse amp. Headunit will be the new Eclipse CD8053 whenever Tweeter gets the **** thing in. Any input would be greatly appreciated.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

for SQL, i would go with 2-2.5 ft^3 each tuned to low-to-mid 30s..........as far as dimensions, that depends on the car

i find my XXX 12, in 2.2 ft^3 tuned to 34 Hz, goes pretty **** low and loud for me.....i'm sure the brahmas would sound just as good, if not better

Also if you don't want to buy one or deal with the hassle of making a ported box, you could make a nice sealed one easily.... check the adire sight for dimensions.

As for the power, I belive Brahma's are 1500 r.m.s. (? maybe 1600) so to get them moving well you could go on ebay and find an orion xtr pro 2200 for like 500 bucks or maybe a Planet Audio 2250D.

One of the sponsored Adire members, Scott Stoner, that i used to talk to frequently before i moved away, installed 2 15" brahmas in a civic with 2 P2250D amps and won a MECA championship and set a new record so....

yes, there is...

a ported box is generally louder, but loses some of its SQ... usually...

with a pair, stick with sealed... mroe manageable box size, and you won't go deaf... it will get PLENTy loud, especially if you throw power at them....

you don't NEED that much power...

check out the adire site... they give full power needs for the driver in different sized enclosures...

try mailing htier tech's to see what they recommend as far as power/enclosure combinations for you.

Also, if you do decide to get a ported box, since you want sound quality, it would be wise to tune your box low... say 28-30 hz. This will probably be best for SQL.

And definitely check out the adire site for box designs...

p.s. I don't think you NEED to send all 1600w RMS to each sub to get full potential out of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
