oh shit, i thought i'd read a how to thread from bassaddict saying you could do all of the soldering on the outside, just had to get it close to the cone so that it wouldnt be putting a lot of stress on the solder joint.

Eh, what I wrote is the only way I'd do it... and I've done it a few times and it's basically replacing them 100%.
