can i actually use my whole trunk as a box???

you havent been here long enough to realize the amount of repetition that goes on...just trying to make a point
i've been here almost 5 months and you've been here around 8?

I know how much repitition goes on. I don't post *****, i look through a lot of stuff and only post when i see fit. So i do see it.

All i'm saying is how hard is it to give him an idea of what to search for?

they're just jumping your ***. the truth is even if you could've found it with the search you probably wouldn't know what to look for.

since the search feature doesn't work great as a query tool in the first place... i wouldn't worry about it.

the answer is yes though, you can go a few routes. some possibilities are IB or fiberglassing your trunk... there are a few others. what are you wanting out of your system?

i did.

twice.

its not as loud as a sealed or ported. but the transient response is there. there is a real smooth rolloff down to about 5hz lol. it is a low end monster, ill tell you that, just not incredibly loud. maybe low 140's on a burp.

Infinite baffle isn't known for, meant for, nor will result in what's generally considered 'loud' bass around here... unless you IB an array of subs. IB gives outstanding SQ, but it is the least efficient of the enclosure/baffle types. Expect phenomenal sounding bass, just not tons of it.

If you go into an IB project looking forward to how loud it pounds, you probably should have chosen a different install technique.

Not to nitpick, but isn't IB the most efficient of the enclosures? That is, woofers will reach maximum excursion with the least amount of power?

Of course there are different kinds of efficiency.

For cone excursion, yes. But for sheer output, no. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
