Doing my first major car audio install and am just trying to figure out how much speaker wire, sub wire and power wire I'm going to need to run.

03 Hyundai Tiburon, doing all 4 speakers, wiring two subs in the trunk about a foot from the amp. Which wire should I use to wire the subs assuming I'm going to be pushing 600w to them?

So How much speaker wire (12G)

How much sub wire (?G)

And how much power wire am I going to need to do my big 3 (0G)

Even rough estimates are appreciated.

Thanks

Phil

I asked similar questions a few weeks ago...and well the obvious answer (and I'm being more polite to you than the attention I got...) is get a tape measurer and go out to the car. Plan out where you will be hiding all the wiring first too, and even then order a few extra feet than you think you will need in case of accidents...The Infinity systems in those cars are fairly decent for what they are. What are your plans with the system?

If money not a problem ,use 0/1 gauge, but make sure your amp can accept such a thick wire, else 4 gauge is fine.

For sub use 8 gauge, length depends how far your amp is.

for speakers about 60 ft(to be safe)

no idea about big3 as i have not done it yet

the best answer

just plan for 20ft power and 4-5ft ground, you wont need that much but it will give you extra to work off of

4ft for each piece in the big 3

should be able to get by with 12-15ft speaker wire for each run you need assuming you tapping into them behind the cd player, might have to find the amp, havnt really messed with the infinity syssem

just measure because each vehicle is different

For speaker wire, I would get at least a 20 ft roll if you're doing all your mids and higs ( you might need more).

The power I would guess at least 15-20 ft. if you're just running one strip to the trunk.

Let's see those Realms bangin when you get this done!

check out knukonceptz there fleks kits are awesome for the money. i couldnt be happier it was at my house 2 days after i ordered it and the wire count was more than what i was expecting for 4 gauge. there prices are really good too

Running 2 Gauge power to a nine.5, then wiring the subs at 10G just to be safe, 16g enough for the speakers or should I go bigger?

Thanks for your help, I'm busting out the tape measure.

16 gauge is fine for the speakers. You don't need 10 gauge for the sub but if it'll fit the terminals it won't hurt anything. 12 gauge is more than big enough though.
