Can an amp rated for 2 ohms run in 4 ohms?

Just less power.

Seems kinda pointless to me to buy a $250 ~1000w amp and only use it for 300-400w when you could get a good quality 2 ch and do the same thing for half the price.

i would only run it at 4 ohm during certain times in the year when i dont have room for my two 12's in the trunk and still want some bass with my small boxed 10

ya dig?

thanks for answering my question

edit: the 12's show 1 ohm and the 10 is 4 ohms
