Can a High Output alt overload a Battery?

just wondering... my dad is totally against me putting my HO alt in due to my fryin the cars electrical system. i have an old car 1984.

Yup, refer to the sticky.

Charging is much more dependent on voltage...charge at too high a voltage, you could enter a thermal runaway situation. Current simply determines how fast the battery charges, not the final state of charge...

but hes been a Benz tech for like 20+ years. Ill just have him read the sticky and maybe that will change his mind.
