Can a double din be installed in a BMW 745i?

I've been searching and cannot find any custom installs. I'm guessing that it's supposed to be a pain in the a$$ to install anything aftermarket? It looks like a single din might fit, but I don't want a single din. I don't think anyone makes a radio kit for it. If you find an install with pics, that would be great.

your best bet is utilizing factory cd player. do you have nav or is that why u want a double din? The best opiton i think would be something along the lines of a jl clean sweep which also allows for integration of aftermarket amps, ipod and othe a/v accessories as well.

I don't have the car yet, but I'm going to test drive a few. I just like the look of the double dins with the ipod artwork and its easier for me to navigate through music with double than single din. I know it already has Navi built from the factory, but I was just curious what my options were? I don't want to hack the car up just for aftermarket stuff. My last option is a Alpine Ida. I need to hide the ipod away because I refuse to keep picking it up just to find a track.

You are going to need to find another location other than the factory location for a radio in that vehicle. It is one of the original cars to feature the MOST system which is a fiber optic system that controls all audio video navigation and the like. The fiber optics are organized into a loop of which the factory radio is a part. If any portion of that loop is removed a bunch of other shit will not work. So be prepared to hunt for a location for a radio. And if you are thinking center console here is a heads up that console is hell to get out of the vehicle. Last one i removed took me 1.5hrs. There are however plenty of factory integration options from the good folks over at Nav-Tv from ipod to video in motion to adding a back up cam or auxillary video source to that front screen. And if you are going this for audio if you want to fit anything larger then a 4" in that door prepare for some fabrication as all you have are 4" mids and a tweet in each door and the factory subs which i think are 9"s are under the front seats. Factory amplifier, nav brain and anything elese electronic are all located in what i call the million dollar quarter panel in the drivers side of the trunk.

Gawd Daamn! It sounds too hard? How hard is it to remove the front seats to install 8 inch midbass? The Nav-Tv looks good, how much is it? Do you know if there is a metal plate behind the back seat? Will the bass come through the back seat ok? Can the JL Clean Sweep be added to the Nav-Tv or what about a AC Eqx?

you can use any factory integration piece with any of the the nav tv products as they work with the fiber optic system and the integration devices work completely speaker level. There is a metal plate behind the back seat but ive done single tens in those cars with good results. You can call navtv during the day for pricing i do not know off the top how much some of their stuff costs. As far as seat removal it should be more then 4 bolts hoding them in however the aibag system is tied into the seats so make sure you batt has been disconnected for at least 15mins before unplugging them to prevent srs malfunctions.
