Can a capacitor change sound?

well this is up there as the most retarded thread.
yes it can. it was actually designed for SQ purposes. sometimes, your electrical system will be slow to supply your amp with current on heavy bass notes, usually a 1 second delay, so a cap can discaharge quickly, and make that note smooth vs. muddy. now i suppose that is what you mean by change sound, and it's still debatable if caps even do that, and furthermore this is all in regards to stiffening capacitors. unless you are taking about capacitors used in passive xovers....
Indeed... But, be ready to be flamed by all the n--bx with no ears, who think caps are worthless...

well this cap is cool it has a very bright blue neon light strip in middle, its a power acoustik 3.0 farad cap, i found it on sonicelectronix.com under 3.0-5.0 caps.
You're sounding pretty nubish right there man. Stop right there instead of burying yourself deeper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Your amplifiers come, from the factory, with 'stiffening caps' in their input stage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Yes, at the voltage rails where voltage is being stepped up to 20? 40? 80v or more depending on the size of the amp, in which case they are obviously very beneficial (even critical?) to the operation.

On the power wire which may swing from 11 to ~14v there just isn't much they can do, most definitely nothing audible.

I was not making an arguement for the use of external caps. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I agree with your assessment.
