i know the question seems kinda dumb but i figure the amp wouldnt be pushing out full potential anyway so the speakers wouldnt ever get that full 95 rms

the speakers are alpine type s components 80 watts rms i want to know if an amp rated at 95 watts rms would blow them or if the speakers would be able to handle them being that the amp wont be running its potential

I can run 10 watt speakers off a 20,000 watt amp and not blow them.

Just find the song that you have with the most bass, midbass, and treble (probably 3 different songs). Start with whichever you choose, and turn the gain up until you come near the limits of the speakers. Go to the next song, and turn it up. If you aren't able to turn it all the way up (to the 60% volume level on the headunit, not 100% volume), then turn the gain down. Do the same for the next song. Now you can play and all the songs that you have at full volume without blowing your speakers. Problem solved.

Thanks I feel better about power my speakers then I'll definatly use this way to set my gain lol

And the amp is a 2 channel pioneer gm5400t at 2ohms it does 190 each channel so 95 rms to each speaker the other speakers r the type r's they handle 100 rms watts so I'm not worried about them

Yeah, it's the method I use when I'm overpowering speakers. Works like a charm!
